HORIZON EUROPE calls for EU Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters

The Mission is designed to deliver on the European Union’s 2030 quantified and measurable targets for protecting and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity, for zero pollution, and for decarbonisation and net greenhouse gas emissions reduction towards climate-neutrality, within the EU’s ocean, seas and waters.

European Innovation Council Transition Calls 

Grants of up to EUR 2.5 million are available (1) to enable support any technologies and innovations that cut across different scientific, technological, sectoral and application fields or represent novel combinations, (2) for projects focus on novel digital devices or/and architectures aiming at solving issues related to energy efficiency, use of non-critical and non-toxic raw materials, and (3) on developing energy system technologies, integrating a combination of at least one technology resulting from an eligible project in a system or complex process comprising the elements of energy production or conversion, storage, including renewable fuels, and / or final use.

European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) 

The fund supports the implementation of the Common Fisheries policy, the EU Maritime policy, and the EU agenda for international ocean governance. With a budget of € 6.108 billion for the period 2021-2027, EMFAF helps achieve sustainable fisheries, conserve marine biological resources, and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 14, and it fulfils the objectives of the European Green Deal.

Calls for Proposals for Women in the Blue Economy 

With a EUR 2.5 million budget, the call will help increase the participation of women in the different sectors of the blue economy, such as fisheries, aquaculture, shipbuilding, maritime transport, offshore renewable energy, blue bioeconomy, as well as inland and offshore aquaculture.

Small-scale projects under the Innovation Fund

The second call for small-scale projects will provide grant funding of €100 million for projects with a capital expenditure between €2.5 and 7.5 million, in renewable energy, energy-intensive industries, energy storage, and carbon capture, use and storage.
